[Dog_Nutrition] Re: Good site for pet food - kibble, canned?
Right now my two are on Fromm Adult Gold. I have used Canidae (before they changed the formula), California Natural, Holistic Blend. For the canned, I buy Eagle Pack and Praire because they often have deals on these foods at the shows or in the store I go to. I also buy Oven Baked Treats. "Oven Baked" makes a food that is not extruded (obviously it is baked) and I would try this if my guys were only fed kibble. I still may try this kibbble after I move from the Fromm. I never stay with one brand for more than one year as I believe is good to change up the formula, and protein base, now and again. Some people even mix different kibbles to get the same effect.

Even Wellness is now extruded. Better to buy a baked kibble if this is all you feed. I have determined that extra money is better spent on quality canned food which I give with the kibble. I kind of treat the kibble as filler for two GSDs. I do buy quality kibble, just not the absolute most expensive. I also supplement with human cooked food. Works for my guys but may not work for all.
