[Dog_Nutrition] Constipation in Pug
Hi All,
I am working with my vet on a home cooked diet for my 5 year old Pug, Jaxson. Every once in a while, Jax gets constipated and won't eat much until after he goes. I was thinking of adding some fiber supplement - does anyone else run into this issue with home cooking for your dogs? He gets vegetables but I really have to grind them up or else he won't eat them at all so I'm not sure how much bulk fiber he is really getting. He definitely gets enough water. I also add some oatmeal into his food too for some grains but that doesn't seem to be enough to help with his occasional constipation. Appreciate any ideas you can offer. Thanks!
