Before you do any surgery have a lymes test. It could also be that. I had a
puppy owner call me to tell me her puppy had a bad knee, according to her
vet and was going to have surgery the following week. I have never had knee
issues with my dogs but it an happen from an accident also. On the weekend
prior to surgery the puppies other knee went out. They rushed the dog to
the ER. They told the vet about the up coming surgery. He checked both knees
and told them the knees were perfect. They problem had nothing to do with
his legs. He then took blood and ran a bunch of tests including Lyme test.
They puppy had it. They were told if they had put the dog under for a
surgery not needed in his condition he would have died. With med's he was up and
running in no time. So check for that also.
