Re: [Dog_Nutrition] Common Allergies??
Hello Kim and All,
I'm with you and the artificial additives and wheat makes sense,
too. If by bones you mean off the table real bones, she hasn't had any
in about a year. I've been feeding both kibble & canned Natural
Balance L.I.D. (Limited Ingredients Diet) for allergies in either the
Venison & Sweet Potatoe or Duck & Potatoe. As much as possible we've
not given anything off the table except occationally potatoes or green
beans. She loves Chicken but that was one of the foods the vet warned
about. In a couple of weeks I'm going to retry her on Chicken. Right
now we're beeing really strick as my granddaughter & her baby just left
and I'm sure Charlie managed to get some things, including toast, that
she shouldn't have from baby Kenzi. For the last few days, she's been
itching her ears and nose again.

I can only speak from my own experience. The culprits for my
Australian Terrier seem to be wheat and artificial additives. Itchy,
or loose stools, or both. I took him off kibble altogether. Kibble has
so many ingredients, it is difficult to pin down, although I hear
California Natural is good (havent tried it though).
What happens when you feed bones? And what sort of meat? What about
trying chicken?
