Sorry, got confused. Dalmatians tend to get stones due to diets high in purine, not necessarily protein. However, high protein diets can promote stone formation.

Hi,

I had one of my customers email me this link:

She has a Dalmatian with allergies (seasonal, we live in Austin, Texas) and she has been feeding Eagle Pack Holistic (sardine, anchovies) kibble and Natures Variety Lamb patties (raw) for a while now. She saw this site and is worried about her diet. What do you guys think? I have never heard that Dalmatians could not eat organ meats, read meats, venison!???
Is this true? Or is this site wrong?
I have a Dalmatian for 11 years and she has been eating a combination of raw rabbit, lamb, dehydrated raw by Honest kitchen, Ziwi Peak (venison, fish green mussels),canned tripe mixed with Sojos Europa (dehydrated vegetable mix). She is a healthy dog!
